Cody Gainer drove in three runs and smacked a pair of homers as Elkins defeated Buckhannon 8-7 Saturday to win the Area 5 title at Robin Harvey Memorial Field.
Post 29 advances to the state tournament that begins Wednesday in Wheeling. Elkins faces Berkeley County Post 14 at 3 p.m.
Heath Broughton added two hits, including a home run and two RBIs and scored two runs, while Scott Fox, Colby Gainer, Tyler Shreve and Chance Price had two hits each for Post 29.

Fox scored two runs and had one RBI, while Colby Gainer had one run scored and Price had an RBI.
Doug Smith also had one hit and a RBI for Elkins.
James Gainer (6-2) notched the win for Post 29 in five innings of relief. He gave up one earned run on two walks and struck out five.
Fox pitched the last inning to pick up his second save of the season. He gave up one walk and struck out three.
Brandon Moneypenny took the loss in three innings of work. He gave up three runs on five hits, walked two and struck out three.
Dalton Westfall had four hits and scored three runs to lead Post 7 at the plate.
"We came out very flat to start the contest," Elkins Post 29 general manager Chris George said. "I was happy with how the kids never gave up and fought until the very end.
"We're happy to win the area again and move on to the state tournament."
Elkins (34-7) defeated Preston 25-3 on Friday night.
Christian Scott notched the win in six innings of work. He gave up three runs on five hits and struck out 11.
Ryne Bonnell had five hits and drove in three runs to lead Elkins at the plate.
