Mr. Gale Junior Booth, 72, a resident of Johnson Avenue, Belington, departed this life Friday, July 27, 2012, at his residence. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
He was born April 14, 1940, at Weston, a son of the late Lee D. and Lena M. (Goodwin) Booth.
He was twice married, first to Shirley Morgan Varner, and second to the former Anna Golden, both of whom preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula White Currence and Angela Booth and companion, Arthur White, of Elkins; two grandsons, Shawn and Shane White of Elkins; two brothers, Carl Booth and wife, Linda, of Mt. Storm, and Dana Booth and wife, Pam, of Belington; half brother, Donald Daugherty of Ohio; one sister, Betty Chenoweth of Belington; companion, Carol Woods of Belington; and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Booth.
Mr. Booth attended the Shockey School and Belington Church of Christ. He was employed by Badger Coal Co. and Kitt Energy Coal Co. prior to his retirement. He was known throughout the community as an avid marble collector.
A memorial service will be conducted at Talbott Funeral Home, 210 Brandenburg St. in Belington on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 3 p.m. with a time of reflection and remembrance conducted by Mr. Booth's family. At the request of the deceased, his remains were cremated.
