Mr. Duard Delmont "D.D." Bennett II, 66, a resident of Beverly, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 29, 1945, at Elkins, a son of the late Duard Delmont Bennett and the late Betty Jean Keim Bennett.
He was married to Barbara Jean Atkinson Bennett who survives at Beverly.
Also surviving are two children, Brian David Bennett and wife, Leslie, of Elkins and Robin Michelle Blosser and husband, Troy, of Bridgeport; one brother, David Bennett and wife, Mary Beth, of Kokomo, Ind.; five grandchildren, Devonn, Nathanial, Tyler, T.J. and Kelsie; two nieces, Ellen and Erin; and two nephews, David Lee and Matthew.
Also preceding him in death was one nephew, Keith.
D.D. attended the schools of Randolph County, was the West Virginia State Wrestling Champion in 1963 in the Unlimited Division and a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1963. He was employed for 40 years by the West Virginia Division of Highways as a utility supervisor prior to his retirement in 2006. D.D. was an outdoorsman and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Bennett's request for cremation was honored.
