Elkins resident is MSFF royalty

Farha Kauser Khan of Elkins has been appointed by Delegate Denise Campbell, D-Randolph, as a princess in the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival.

She is the only child of Dr. Farukh A. and Shakeela Khan. She is a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 2012 and is attending Denison University. She plans to study medicine with hopes of teaching psychology/psychiatry at a university level.

While in high school, Khan was an AP Scholar, a National Merit finalist, member of the German Honor Society, National Honor Society, was EHS class of 2012 salutatorian and was majorette captain of the EHS marching band.

She also was involved in dance, piano, string orchestra and was a member of the Olde Brick Playhouse. Her hobbies are reading, writing, crocheting and playing video games.

Khan will join 37 princesses and the rest of the royal court descending coronation hill as the fall pageantry excites the thousands of visitors of the Mountain State Forest Festival on Oct. 5 on the campus of Davis & Elkins College in Elkins.
