Simmons named MSFF princess

Brittanie Ashland Simmons has been appointed by Frank Jezioro, director of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, as a princess in the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival.

Simmons is the daughter of Ricky and Cynthia Simmons of Huttonsville. She is the granddaughter of Ted and Luella Simmons, also of Huttonsville, and Lloyd and Betty Price of Beverly.

Simmons is a 2009 graduate of Tygarts Valley High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and was awarded the Student Award at the Vocational School. She was a member of the FBLA, an OSHA member and Skills USA. Simmons also was named to Who's Who Among High School Students. She was a member of the DESNA at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins and is currently attending Miami Jacobs with future plans to become a massage therapist. She enjoys reading hunting and attending concerts.
