James Loudin

James Darrell Loudin, 79, a 20-month resident of Paula's Care Home, and former resident of Rock Cave, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012.

He was born March 8, 1933, a son of the late Carlos O. and Ona Roxanna Potts Loudin.

On June 14, 1981, he was united in marriage to Bea Jones White, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Kelly Sturmand husband, Mart, of Buckhannon and Angela Jones and husband, Steve, of Cairo; three sons, Allan White and wife, Sue, Greg White and girlfriend, Cathy Bell, and Kevin White and wife, Lisa, all of Elkins; nine grandchildren, Matt White and wife, Stephanie, Adam White and wife, Kayla, Jeremy White, Tyler and Kaitlyn Sturm, Emily White and Michael, Marcus and Jordan Jones; and one great-granddaughter, Kayleigh White. Also surviving are one sister, Carolyn Simon of Alaska; and three brothers, Donald Loudin of Rock Cave, Allen "Buck" Loudin of Rock Cave and Junior Loudin of Summersville.

Mr. Loudin was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany from 1953-1955. Mr. Loudin was a member of Rock Cave Lodge No. 81 A.F. & A.M. for 43 years, 13 of those years serving as worshipful master. He had also been a member of Aletha Chapter 82 Order of the Eastern Star since 1984. He served on the Adrian Public Service Water Board for 16 years and the Rock Cave Cemetery Board of Trustees. He had been a member of the Banks District Volunteer Fire Department since 1975. He was retired from Columbia Gas after 31years of service.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Paula and her staff for their tender, loving care given to Darrell during his illness.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel, with Aletha Chapter 82 Order of the Eastern Star conducting their service at 7 p.m. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Kara Phillippi and the Rev. Dan Lowther officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Cave Cemetery, where Masonic graveside rites will be performed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Banks District Volunteer Fire Department in care of Sharon Bonnett, Treasurer, at P.O. Box 158, Rock Cave, WV 26234.
