PRINCETON - Davis & Elkins freshman Taylor Morton has been named the West Virginia Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the league office.
Morton, a native of Huntingtown, Md., led the Senators to a 2-0 week. The midfielder scored four goals and had an assist. Two of her four goals were game-winning scores.
In the win over Charleston, Morton scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal off a rebound. She also had an assist on a Sarah Fyock goal later in the match. Against Ashland, Morton recorded her first career hat trick. She scored a goal in the first half before notching two more in the second.
Morton has helped the Senators improve to 4-0, including 1-0 in WVIAC action. It marks the best start in school history for the program.
