AccessHealth Teaching Health Center of Beckley has announced that Dr. Michael L. Antolini is one of five physicians participating in the 2012-2013 Family Practice Residency Program in southern West Virginia.
Antolini, a 2004 graduate of Parkersburg South High School, graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg as a doctor in osteopathic medicine in May. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Hampden-Sidney College in Hampden-Sydney, Va.
Antolini's academic accolades include receiving the prestigious Cheryl and Michael Adelman WVSOM Presidential Leadership Scholarship. He served for three years as president of the WVSOM Class of 2012. Antolini also was privileged to be a student member for both American Academy of Family Physicians and American College of Physicians. He holds memberships with Alpha Chi Sigma Professional Chemistry Fraternity, Chi Beta Phi Honorary Scientific Fraternity and The Hampden-Sydney Society of 1791.
His professional interests include disaster medicine and preparedness, wilderness medicine, medical informatics, health care policy and organizational leadership.
He is the son of Carl "Butch" and Heather Antolini of Beckley, and the grandson of Carl and Andrea Antolini, and Tharon and Judy Jack, all of Elkins.
