D&E to premiere student movie

September 18, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

Davis & Elkins College will debut a student production and present a blockbuster film for the community at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the outdoor amphitheater. Admission is free.

Lonnie Martin, a 2002 D&E graduate, wrote and directed the pilot-length film "The Weird Sisters" as part of a three-week filmmaking class in January. The 12-member cast and crew are theater arts students.

Also to be presented Wednesday is Marvel's "The Avengers" starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson. Rated PG-13, the film brings together the superhero team of Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk and Thor.

The evening is presented by the Campus Activities Board. Additional information is available by contacting the Student Life Office at 304-637-1211.
