WVU student becomes princess

Director General Mike Karlen has appointed Emily Nicole Cline as a princess in the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival.

Cline is the daughter of Douglas Cline of Fairmont and Sally Cline of South Charleston, and she is the granddaughter of William and Ruth Ann McLaughlin of Bowden.

Cline graduated from Charleston Catholic High School in 2012 and attends West Virginia University. She received the Mary M. Jennings Memorial Scholarship. She participated in Project Hope in Clay County, Youth Opportunity Camp in Wyoming County and two of the Charleston Catholic Summer Service projects.

She has been a dancer for 13 years at the Academy of Arts January's Charleston Ballet. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, babysitting, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Cline will join the other princesses and the rest of the Mountain State Forest Festival's royal court as they descend coronation hill Oct. 5 on the campus of Davis & Elkins College. More information is available by visiting www.forestfestival.com.
