Mrs. Mary Ann (Watton) Bartholow, 73, a resident of Laurel View Apartments in Belington, departed this life at 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, in the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins. She had been in declining health for quite some time.
She was born April 30, 1939, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late William Walter and Mary Leona (Brummage) Watton. She was first married to Raymond James Shipley, who preceded her in death and second to Fred G. Bartholow, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Terry Currence and husband, Ralph, of Elkins, and Doris Delauder of Belington; and one son, Dana Shipley, of Huntington.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Brittney Pitzer, Dale Pitzer, Kevin Price, Benji Price and wife, Brandy, all of Belington, Gary Shipley and Shyla Pirahle of Fairmont; two step grandchildren, Taylor Currence and Zach Currence, both of Elkins; several great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death one daughter, Debra (Shipley) Parker; two sons, Johnny Shipley and James Allen Shipley; one brother, William M. Watton; and one grandson Shaun Shipley.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Bartholow attended the schools of Marion County, was a homemaker and liked spending time with her family. She was a protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 7-9 p.m. today. At 11 a.m. on Friday, Mrs. Bartholow will be moved to the National Cemetery at Grafton where graveside services will be conducted at noon with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman officiating. Interment will then follow.
