Rock Cave CEOS met Sept. 4 at the Banks District Civic Center with 13 members and two guests, Sherri Frederick and her son, Tayden Alexander Swindler.
Marianne Frederick said grace before refreshments. Jean Linger won the door prize. Linger read a short story, "Teach Me to Pray," for devotions and Debbie Page read "He That Made the Rose," followed by the flag salute.
Carol Haymond took roll call and read the minutes of the August meeting. Avis Bowles made a motion to accept the minutes. They were seconded and the motion carried. Jean Linger gave the treasurer's report.

Haymond read a card from Frederick on the birth of her son. She also thanked members for sympathy cards that she received.
Bowles read a letter from Ronald McDonald House requesting help to support the development and operation of a family room at the hospital. Frederick motioned to donate $25, seconded by Haymond. The motion carried.
It was reported that the Rock Cave IGA is collecting food for Cross Lines and the Parish House.
During committee reports, Bowles gave the marketing and membership report. The advance meeting notice was sent to both papers, and 2013 club meeting information was sent to The Record Delta Historical Community Calendar. Bowles and Debbie Page set up the window display at Main Street Formalwear for Upshur County CEOS week.
Under old business, Page reported 2,500 CVH were turned in. The mini-fair was discussed and members decided not to participate this year.
In new business, Page reported on the Children's Festival. Bowles motioned to donate $25, seconded by Frederick. The motion carried.
During Show 'n Tell, Frederick showed members two cross-stitched baby bibs that she made for her grandson, Tayden. Bowles gave the lesson, "Mapping Your Family Tree" and presented benefits of creating a family tree and how to go about it.
Computer classes at the Fire Hall were discussed. Haymond reminded the members how important it is to vote in this coming election. The November meeting date will be announced at the October meeting. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
