First Friday event set for today in Elkins

The next First Friday Event is set for 5 to 7 p.m. today.

Artists at Work, Henry G's, the Randolph County Community Arts Center and The Closet all will remain open late, and the downtown area will feature a range of shopping and entertainment opportunities prior to the Mountain State Forest Festival's Fireman's Parade.

Artists at Work will host a free workshop on how to use polymer clay at 5 and 6 p.m. with artist Melinda Shafer. All participants will have the opportunity to create their own magnet and refreshments will be available.

The Randolph County Community Arts Center will feature the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival Exhibit, which will showcase more than 100 works by West Virginia artists. In addition, "Seasonal Scenes," a solo exhibition by Jo Ann Post Barlow, will be on exhibit in the Maxwell Room Gallery.
