MILL?CREEK?- Rece Wamsley's 10-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Riggleman with seven seconds remaining in regulation lifted Tygarts Valley to a 12-6 win over Webster County Wednesday night in middle school football action at Bulldog Field.
The game was knotted up at 6-6 late in the fourth quarter when the Bulldogs (5-2) started the game-winning drive at the Webster 45-yard line.
Two straight runs from Ronnie Nicholas set Tygarts Valley up at the 10-yard line, where Wamsley found Riggleman for the game-winner.
Nicholas finished the contest with 104 yards on 13 carries. He gave the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead when he returned a punt for a 70-yard touchdown in the opening quarter.
Tygarts Valley took the six-point advantage into the second half when Webster tied the game in the third quarter when Dorian Grogg scored on a 30-yard scamper.
Grogg finished the game with 80 yards rushing on nine attempts.
Jared Taylor led the Bulldogs' defense with 11 tackles. Nicholas followed with 10 stops and Wamsley had five tackles to go along with a sack.
Riggleman, Thomas Tenney and Darrell Martin finished with four tackles each. Zack McCauley had an interception and fumble recovery and Joey Taylor and interception for TV.
The Bulldogs will entertain Tucker Valley Wednesday in their final game.
