Make plans now to enjoy the fall season in the mountains of West Virginia on a Dinner Train through the beautiful Potomac Highlands. The South Side Depot in Petersburg is hosting the Autumn Splendor Dinner Train on Saturday.
Passengers will begin boarding at 4:30 p.m. at the South Side Depot in Petersburg. This scenic two-hour train excursion winds its way along the South Branch of the Potomac River as passengers enjoy a catered prime rib dinner by Gourmet Delights of Petersburg.
"There is plenty to see through the broad windows of our vintage train cars," said Hanna Weaver, Grant County Convention Visitor Bureau's executive director. "The views along the river are amazing and passengers especially love to see our most popular native wildlife attraction, the American bald eagle."
A wine sampling will be conducted at the South Side Depot exclusively for those on the dinner train from 2-4 p.m. The wines sampled will be available for purchase and can be taken on the train to enjoy with the dinner.
The cost for the dinner train excursion is $60 per person and reservations are required. The event is designed for adults only. For reservations call the South Side Depot at 304-257-9264.
