Officials recently learned that the Randolph Technical Center was awarded exemplary accreditation status by the West Virginia Board of Education and Office of Education Performance Audits.
The school is among only 58 K-12 schools and six career technical-education centers/programs in West Virginia achieving this honor. In Randolph County, both the Technical Center and Pickens School were awarded exemplary accreditation status.
Randolph Technical Center Vocational Director/Principal Don Johnson said he is excited about the designation.

"The staff has worked really hard and met 92 percent of goal performance standards," Johnson said. "I am very proud of everyone."
Exemplary accreditation status is the premier recognition for schools, and requires high educational standards.
