William H. Carpenter, 69, of Buckeye passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.
Born Dec. 25, 1942, at Spruce Flats, William was a son of the late Benjamin "Frank" and Georgia Weiford Carpenter.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Carpenter; and one brother, Johnnie Carpenter.
He was a retired truck driver, a member of the Moose lodge and an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
Survivors include wife, Thelma Carpenter; two daughters, Brandy Carpenter and her significant other, Jamie Kellison, of Marlinton, and Della Kerchinski of St. Marys, Pa.; two grandchildren; one sister, Jewell Biggs of Buckeye; two brothers, Stewie Carpenter of Marlinton and Buck Carpenter of Buckeye; nieces, Pam Carpenter and Charlotte Turner; nephews, Brad Carpenter, Danny Carpenter, Frank Triplett, Jerry Gum and Tim Wiseman; many great nieces and nephews and a best friend, Everette Chapman.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Pastor Sam Felton officiating. Burial followed in the Carpenter Family Cemetery on the Spruce Flats.
