A Belington man has thrown his hat into the ring to represent Barbour County in the West Virginia Legislature.
Butch Hoppe filed Friday with the West Virginia Secretary of State's office to run as an official write-in candidate for the House of Delegates.
John Rose, the Republican nominee for Tuesday's election, died Tuesday in a weather-related accident. If Rose would be elected, the Barbour County Republican Executive Committee can submit three names to the governor to select the Barbour County representative.
