Upshur changes polling locations

November 5, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

The Upshur County Clerk's office has changed the location of four voting precincts because of power outages.

Precinct 4, which is the Arlington Community Building, has been moved to Rock Cave Elementary School.

Precincts 25, 27A and 27L, which are normally housed at French Creek Elementary School, have been moved to the Buckhannon Armory.

It was announced that the Shelbyville Fire Department polling place will be open Tuesday, but will be running on generator power.

Other local precinct changes include:

Randolph County voters who normally cast their ballots at Bowden Fish Hatchery will instead be voting in Elkins on Tuesday, the day of the general election. Due to a power outage at the hatchery, the Randolph County Commission unanimously approved a motion to move Precinct 180 to the County Commission meeting room inside the James F. Cain Courthouse Annex.

In Tucker County, the Sycamore Grove Church precinct will move to St. George United Methodist Church, 45 Minears Mill Run Road, Parsons.

In Lewis County, the precinct at Roanoke School will move to Lewis County High School, 205 Minuteman Drive, Weston.
