Ressie Darlene Kyle Lewis, 78, a lifelong resident of Beverly, passed away from this life Friday morning, Nov. 2, 2012, in Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Ressie was born June 22, 1934, at Dailey, a daughter of the late Lester Kyle and Mary Ola Ware Kyle.
On May 19, 1951, she was married to Jay Hugh Lewis, who survies at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Ressie is survied by nine children, the Rev. Donald G. Lewis and wife, Rita, of Kentucky, Mary Leanette Cooke and husband, Jim, of Elkins, Robert Jay Lewis and wife, Becky, of Beverly, the Rev. Terry Keith Lewis and wife, the Rev. Debbie Lewis, of Arnold, Md., Jerry Floyd Lewis of Beverly, Brenda Lea Tackett and husband, Rick, of Mill Creek, Mark Allan Lewis and wife, Tamara, of Elkins, Patricia Arlene Loftin and husband, Jeff, of Elkins and Sarah Nicole Haden and husband, Greg, of Huttonsville; four siblings, Lester Kyle Jr, James Kyle, Maureen Vandevender and Libby Licwov; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ressie in death was one son, Gregory Hugh Lewis; and five siblings, Retha Welch, Lorraine Pritt, Phyllis Kyle, Alice Kyle and Timothy Kyle.
Ressie was a homemaker, and she enjoyed canning, camping, gardening, crocheting and quilting and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Visitation will be conducted at The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services Friday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Donald G. Lewis and the Rev. Marshall Williams will officiate, and interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Beverly.
