Elizabeth Criss Digman 98, a resident of Meadowview Manor Healthcare Center and a former resident of North Main Street in Philippi, passed away on Monday, Nov. 6, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Herman Lee and Ethel (Robinson) Criss.
Surviving are one daughter, Amica Ann "Mickey" Post of Bridgeport; two brothers, Herman Criss of Philippi and Donald Criss of Harrisonburg, Va.; three granddaughters, Stephanie Jene Philips of Cleveland, Ohio, Melanie Ann Whetzel of Morgantown and Valerie Post of Clarksburg; and four great-grandchildren, Lauren Philips Graham, Devin Philips, Alexander Philips and Nathan Whetzel.
Mrs. Digman was preceded in death by two sisters, Lindy Casto and Vieva Coberly.
Mrs. Digman worked as a certified dental assistant for 18 years. She retired from Broaddus Hospital in 1985 as a nurse's aide. She was a former member of Business and Professional Women's Club of Philippi, Philippi Tuesday Night Ladies Bowling Club, member of AARP of Philippi, Barbour County Senior Center of Philippi, member of Philippi United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Ladies Bible Class and held the office of president, secretary and treasurer of the Ladies Bible Class for several years.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St. in Philippi Saturday, Nov. 10, from noon to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. with Pastor Scott Whetzel officiating. Interment will follow in Mt.
