A 27-year-old Elkins man remains incarcerated after Bridgeport police arrested him this week for allegedly sexually soliciting a minor over the Internet.
David Allen McCarty II was arrested earlier this week and charged with allegedly soliciting a minor via computer and the employment of a minor for sexually explicit conduct, both felonies.
According to the criminal complaint in the Harrison County Magistrate Clerk's Office, McCarty allegedly used Yahoo Instant Messenger to contact "what he believed to be a 13-year-old female" on Sept. 3 in Bridgeport. During the conversation, McCarty allegedly told the other person about sexual acts he had performed, and also allegedly requested that the other person, who he believed to be a minor, perform certain sexual acts while chatting with him.
Detective Lt. G. Weaver with the Bridgeport Police Department is the investigating officer in the case.
McCarty remained in the North Central Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond as of presstime Thursday.
