Earl Wilson Judy, 85, of Bowie, Md., died Nov. 6, 2012, unexpectedly at his home.
Born on March 27, 1927, at Dryfork, Earl graduated from Davis High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Hancock until the end of World War II. Earl graduated from West Virginia University in 1950 with a degree in business administration majoring in accounting. He was commissioned as an officer in the USAF, Office of Special Investigations and served at many bases in the United States, Germany and Japan retiring after 22 years. He worked an additional 20 years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Earl is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Eleanor Judy; his daughter, Joanna Gilbert and her husband, John Gilbert, of Davidsonville, Md.; son, Ned Wilson Judy of Bowie, Md.; three grandchildren, Allie Gilbert, Johnny Gilbert and Daniel Gilbert; sister, Helen Arnold of Seaford, Del.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Gilbert and Kathaleen Armstrong; and his brothers, Leon Judy and David Judy.
As a devoted family man, Earl's favorite pastimes were family gatherings, visiting relatives and attending reunions. He remained in close touch with his siblings throughout his life. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events, plays and concerts.
A memorial service was conducted Nov. 10 with interment in Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Crownsville, Md.
