Robert Glen Schoonover of Chenoweth Creek Road will be 85 on Nov. 30. He is the son of the late William and Minnie Triplett Schoonover.
On Jan. 5, 1947, he married Arbutus Teter Schoonover.
They have six children, the late Bobby John Schoonover, Glenda Matthew, Faye Isenhart, Clif Schoonover, Judy Ritchie and Steve Schoonover. They also have eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several others who think of him as granddad.

He retired as bridge foreman for the West Virginia Division of Highways in 1988. He is an avid hunter, having killed many deer and turkeys in his life time. He enjoys working in his garden and always has time to lend a helping hand to his neighbors.
A birthday celebration will be hosted from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the IOOF Lodge on the Beverly Five-lane.
