Ashley Renae Cunningham and Leonard Wade Shaffer III were united in marriage on Oct. 27 at Wayside United Methodist Church in Elkins. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Barbara Rogers.
The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Brenda Cunningham of Davis. She is the granddaughter of John and Carolyn Cunningham of Whitmer, Alma Whitehair of Davis and the late Ronald Whitehair Sr.
The bridegroom is the son of Leonard Shaffer Jr. and Sue Rasmussen of Bayard. He is the grandson of Leonard Shaffer Sr. of Ohio, Rhaymagene Cain of Florida, Carolyn Wiles of Aurora and the late Charles Delbert Wiles.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a white satin a-line gown with a floral pattern of beads and embroidery. She carried a traditional bouquet of white roses and orange Asiatic lilies.
Serving as the matron of honor was Krista Ward, the sister of the bride. She wore a spice satin cocktail-length dress with a floral embellishment. She carried a bouquet similar to the bride's.
Serving as the best man was Justin Harsh, a friend of the groom. He wore a traditional black tuxedo with a spice vest and matching tie with a black and spice diagonal lined pattern.
Serving as the ring bearer was Hunter Shaffer, the son of the bride and groom. He carried a white satin wedding pillow decorated with a golden-hued ribbon and featuring various autumn leaves.
The flowers for the ceremony were prepared by Steven's Florist of Parsons.
Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted at the Holiday Inn Express in Elkins. The three-tier wedding cake was made by Michelle Alkire of Enchanted Cakes, Cookies, & More of Parsons. The autumn-scented Yankee Candle centerpieces topped with orange daisies were prepared by Tammy's Floral & Bridal of Elkins.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of Tucker County High School and a 2012 graduate of Davis & Elkins College with a bachelor's degree in business management. She is employed by Davis & Elkins College in Elkins.
The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Preston High School. He is employed by Eastern Hardwoods, Inc. in Dailey.
The couple and their son reside in Elkins.
