Mrs. Dora V. Wyatt, 88, a resident of Elkins, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 26, 2012, in Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.
She was born Aug. 10, 1924, at Landes, a daughter of the late Olie Walter and Sarah Elizabeth Alt Ayers.
On June 9, 1949, at Elkins, she married Robert Lawrence Wyatt, who preceded her in death Feb. 27, 1967.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald Lee Wyatt of Buckhannon, Steven Roy Wyatt and Terry Wayne Wyatt, both of Elkins; two daughters, Mary M. Tincher of Beverly and Sara Beth Collett of Elkins; and three brothers, Chester, David and Lonnie Ayers. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Robert Lawrence Wyatt Jr.; four brothers, John, Ira, Harold and Larry Ayers; and three sisters, Catherine Watts, Anna Mae Irwin and Ruthaleen Ayers.
Mrs. Wyatt was a homemaker and a member of Elkins First Church of Christ where she taught nursery class for 26 years and was a member of the Randolph County Senior Center.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday from the funeral home chapel with Minister Michael Courtwright officiating. Interment will follow in Little Arlington Cemetery near Elkins.
