BUCKHANNON - West Virginia Wesleyan utilized an 11-0 run midway through the second half, spearheading a 60-52 victory over visiting Alderson-Broaddus Thursday in WVIAC women's basketball action.
The Lady Bobcats received 22 points from their bench in the winning effort.
Wesleyan led most of the first half, battling to 25-22 halftime lead. A-B held close and the game was tied at 32-32 and 34-34 before the Lady Bobcats materialized a surge that pushed the lead to 45-34 - a lead they would never relinquish.

"Defense was the key to our victory," Wesleyan head coach Jackie Devane said. "We did get some points from our bench, but more than scoring, those ladies brought a lot of energy on the defensive end."
Atavia Blake led the Wesleyan starters with 12 points, while Brittany Williams produced 12 points and Kacey Johnson 10 points off the bench. Brittany Maxey posted team highs with seven assists and three steals. Danesha Richardson collected a team-high 10 rebounds.
"When we were making our run in the second half, we came with an aggressive man defense, and that seemed to get our offense going as well," Devane said.
Amanda Peoples led the Lady Battlers with 13 points, followed by Cayla Rhodes, who posted a line of 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocked shots. Leah Hurst just missed a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds.
Wesleyan improves to 2-3 on the season, while Alderson-Broaddus falls to 2-2. The Lady Bobcats are back in action Saturday afternoon at Glenville State. A-B will host Seton Hill on Dec. 8.
Seton Hill 67, D&E 64
Paige Alviani scored 19 points and dished out five assists as Seton Hill held off Davis & Elkins 67-64 Thursday night in West Virginia Conference play at the McDonnell Center.
The Lady Griffins (1-4, 1-1 WVC) led by as many as 13 points in the second half before the Lady Senators rallied to take a 62-59 lead on a pair of free throws from Page Turner with 3:12 left in regulation.
But Seton Hill took the lead for good on a jumper by Alviani, followed by a three-pointer from Mallory Sanner with 2:22 remaining.
D&E came no closer the remainder of the game.
Katie Gattuso added 16 points and seven assists for the Lady Griffins, who led 34-31 at the intermission. Mallory Sanner also reached double figures with 10 points.
Turner and Sharmaine Baker led the Lady Senators with 15 points each. Turner also had six assists and Baker tallied nine rebounds.
D&E (1-2, 0-1) will entertain Pitt-Johnstown at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
