Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., and U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., both expressed their pleasure Thursday with a Randolph County jobs expansion announced this week.
Capito released the following statement in response to the announcement that Armstrong Hardware Flooring will hire 145 additional workers in West Virginia:
"Job creation is always something to celebrate, and even more welcomed at a time when our economy is still struggling to recover," Capito said. "Armstrong Hardware Flooring has been a staple in the Randolph County community for over two decades, employing hundreds of hard-working West Virginians.
"For years Armstrong has relied on the talented workforce here in West Virginia, and this expansion is a further testament to employee ability and superior work ethic."
Manchin issued the following statement about the Armstrong announcement:
"Any day that West Virginia adds new jobs is a great day for our state, and 145 good-paying new jobs is a truly great day," Manchin said. "West Virginia is an excellent place to do business, and this is just a further testament to the quality of our workforce and the products we make."
Armstrong Hardwood Flooring, which employs 8,500 worldwide, also has a plant in Millwood.
