Snowshoe hosts free skiing day for residents

December 7, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

Snowshoe Mountain Resort will host a free day of skiing for all West Virginia residents this Saturday.

All West Virginia residents with proof of residence (state issued ID, utility bill, etc.) can ski for free, officials said.

The resort's conditions are strong as nearly 28 inches of snow came to the resort from storms, solidifying the resort's earliest opening in ten years.

Snowshoe now has seven lifts and 21 trails open. Silver Creek will remain open on weekends only, until it's regularly scheduled opening of Dec. 14.
