Mrs. Juanita Catherine (Thacker) Williams, 98, a resident of Chestnut Flats Community near Belington, departed this life at 2:07 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, in Davis Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born Oct. 25 1914, at the Watercamp Community near Belington, a daughter of the late William Rice and Belva (Talbott) Thacker.

On Nov. 18, 1933, she was united in marriage to the late Marcus L. Williams, who preceded her in death July 10, 1990.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Williams Sturm and husband, Brownie, of Belington; two grandchildren, Dee Dee Skinner and husband, Gary, of Elkins and Jeff Sturm of Belington; four great-grandchildren, Brian Bibey and wife, Julie, of Belington, Rochelle Carpenter and husband, Jamie, of Belington, Judd Sturm of Belington Cody Skinner of Elkins; and seven great-great-grandchildren: Paige and Gage Bibey of Belington, Cori, Maddie, McKenzie, Averi and Finley Carpenter, all of Belington. She is also survived by three siblings, Lyndall Harvey of Florida, Robert Thacker of Beckley and Glenoka Given of Baltimore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Mrs. Williams graduated from Coalton High School in Randolph County. She was formerly employed by Koppers Co. in Maryland, Caldwell Casting Co. in Maryland, and retired from Riedboard Brothers Co. at Elkins. She was a homemaker in her later years and liked to read, quilt, gardening and spending time with her family. She was an active member of Belington Church of Christ.

Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 and again Thursday from 8 until 11 a.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Evangelist Albert Farley and Evangelist Michael Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Talbott Cemetery near Belington.
