Elkins native Scott Bennett was recently promoted to the position of manager of distribution systems for Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) Muncie Distribution District, which serves customers in East Central Indiana. In addition to his numerous utility certifications, Bennett's experience includes work with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, the Michigan Public Service Commission, the Indiana Energy Association, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the North American Reliability Corp. involving legal, regulatory and environmental matters.
He also served as president of West Virginia Vegetation Management Association and is on the board of directors with Indian Arborist Association.
"In his time with I&M, Bennett demonstrated a consistent record of solid, competent leadership that upholds I&M and AEP's values and culture, especially with respect to safety," said Indiana Michigan Power's Distribution Operations Vice President J. Ed Ehler.
Bennett graduated from Elkins High School in 1984 and earned a Bachelor of Science in forestry from the University of Kentucky in 1988 and has completed a number of AEP leadership courses during his career.
