Colts too much for B-U; EHS earns road win

PHILIPPI -Quentin Mouser had 20 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Philip Barbour past rival Buckhannon-Upshur 47-34 Tuesday in Big 10 Conference action.

Antonio Dalton added eight points, four rebounds and five blocks, while Ryan Martin chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds for Philip?Barbour (3-1), who led 21-15 at halftime and 33-24 after three quarters of play.

Dalton Westfall finished with a team-high 15 points and six rebounds and Zane Clevenger had seven points for the Bucs (1-6).

"I was happy with how the team stepped up tonight," Philip Barbour coach Marcus Johnson said. "We played really good defense tonight."

Philip Barbour travels to the Lincoln Holiday Tournament on Dec. 27.

Buckhannon-Upshur travels to Ritchie County on?Dec. 28.

Elkins 54, Lincoln 43

SHINNSTON?- Logan Phillips finished with a team-high 21 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Elkins past Lincoln 54-43 Tuesday in Big 10 Conference action.

Tyler Shreve, Colby Gainer, L.J. Lawrence and Brandon Roth had seven points each for the Tigers (5-0).

Lawrence added five rebounds, while Shreve had four assists for Elkins.

Josh Rexroad fired in 21 points, while Brandon Fazalare added nine points to lead the Cougars.

"I thought defensively we played well tonight,"?Elkins coach John Lawson said. "It was a good win for us on the road."

Elkins travels to the Lewis County tournament and will play Oak Hill on Dec. 27 at 6 p.m.

High School Girls' Basketball

Tucker County 70, Notre Dame 52

CLARKSBURG?- Stephanie Betler had a career high 33 points and five steals to lead Tucker County past Notre Dame 70-52 Tuesday in non-conference action.

Amber Evans added 13 points and six steals, while Bekah Simmons added 10 points for the Lady Mountain Lions.

Aiyana Kachmarek chipped in with six points, while Savannah Ambrose had four points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for Tucker County.

Molly Angotti had 31 points to lead Notre Dame.

"This was a good win for us," Tucker County coach Jim Ambrose said. "I?thought we played really well especially in the fourth quarter. Betler really stepped up big for us in the fourth quarter."

Tucker County hosts Southern (Md.)?on Thursday.
