Lincoln too much for Elkins, 56-43

Tygarts Valley cruises past Harman; PB wins

Makayla McEwayne fired in a game-high 23 points to lead Lincoln past Elkins 56-43 Wednesday in Big 10 Conference action at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.

Emily Knight followed with 14 points, while Alysse Parsons chipped in with eight points for Lincoln (4-1), who led 36-25 at halftime and 50-35 after three quarters of play.

Brianna Swecker had 11 points, while Jaycie Saseen had eight points to lead the Lady Tigers.

Logan Dudley added six points and eight rebounds for Elkins.

Ashley Simmons had seven rebounds and four steals for the Lady Tigers.

Elkins won the junior varsity game 33-29.

Jasmine Darr finished with nine points, while Meghan Dolly chipped in with seven for EHS.

Elkins hosts Hampshire on Friday for a non-conference matchup at 7:30 p.m.

Tygarts Valley 55, Harman 19

HARMAN?- Shanda Howell had 12 points and seven steals to lead Tygarts Valley past Harman 55-19 Wednesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Makayla Harris and Emily Pingley had 10 points each for the Bulldogs (5-2), who led 29-7 at halftime and 47-11 after three quarters of play.

Paige Pritt added eight points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Layla Teter had 12 points, while Catlyn Bennett had five points for the Lady Panthers.

Harman travels to Paden City on Saturday at noon for a non-conference matchup.

Tygarts Valley travels to South Harrison on Dec. 28 for a non-conference tilt.

Pocahontas County 60, Bath County (Va.) 22

DUNMORE - Heather Snead had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Pocahontas County past Bath County (Va.) 60-22 Wednesday in non-conference action.

Melissa Murphy had 13 points, while Tristin Day chipped in 10 points for the Lady Warriors?(6-1), who led 28-12 at halftime and 39-17 after three quarters of play.

Kendal Woodzell and Jessie O'Conner had six points each for Bath County (Va.).

Pocahontas County host Moorefield tonight at 7:30 p.m. for a PVC?matchup.

Philip Barbour 39, Buckhannon-Upshur 36

TENNERTON?- Lindsey Riley had 10 points to lead Philip?Barbour past Buckhannon-Upshur 39-36 Wednesday in Big 10 Conference action.

Riley finished with nine rebounds and seven assists for the Lady Colts (2-1).

Haley Stewart added seven points, five rebounds and five steals for Philip?Barbour.

Megan Wilfong had 11 points, while Jessica Feronti and Courtney Reed added 10 points each for the Lady Bucs (1-6), who led 18-16 at halftime and 27-24 after three quarters of play.

"We made some big shots down the stretch to pull out the win," Philip?Barbour coach Tammy Martin said. "It was a good road win for us."

Philip Barbour will play in the Lincoln tournament on Dec. 27th and will play Berkeley Springs first round.

Buckhannon-Upshur host Preston on Friday for a Big 10 Conference matchup.
