PHILIPPI - Tyler Sprouse fired in 27 points as Bridgeport overcame a first-half deficit to roll past Philip Barbour 73-52 Tuesday night in Big 10 Conference action.
Jordan Haywood added 17 points and John Wilfong 11 for the Indians, who erupted for 23 points in the second quarter to take a 35-21 lead at the intermission.
The margin grew to 56-41 after three quarters before back-to-back baskets by Quentin Mouser to start the final period brought the Colts to within 56-45.
But Bridgeport (3-4, 3-3 Big 10) answered with a 12-2 run to regain a 68-47 advantage on Wilfong's putback with 4:40 left in regulation.
Mouser was the lone Philip Barbour player in double figures with 21 points. Trevor Matko added nine and Antonio Dalton eight.
Philip Barbour (4-4, 3-3) will remain home to face Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday for another conference contest, while the Indians host North Marion on the same evening in a league game.
Fairmont Senior 62, Elkins 52
FAIRMONT?- Tavon Horton fired in 25 points as Fairmont Senior used a third-quarter surge to get past Elkins 62-52 Tuesday night in Big 10 Conference play.
Shaquille Washington added 13 points for the Polar Bears (6-3, 4-1 Big 10), who trailed 29-21 at the intermission before outscoring the Tigers 24-13 in the third quarter.
"They came out and played a faster tempo in the third quarter and we didn't do a good job of stopping the ball," Elkins first-year coach John Lawson said.
"We need to start putting four good quarters together, and we're getting closer to doing that.
"Fairmont Senior has a very athletic team with a lot of quickness. We played hard but just fell short."
Colby Gainer had 15 points, Logan Phillips 14 and Brandon Roth 11 for the Tigers, who dropped to 7-2 overall and 3-2 in league games.
Elkins will host East Fairmont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday for a Big 10 Conference game.
Fairmont Senior will visit Buckhannon-Upshur on the same evening for a conference matchup.
