Elks Lodge 1135, Elkins, made the holidays a little brighter for approximately 80 area youth by arranging a special meeting with Santa Claus himself. The children were invited to a Christmas party at Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church where they had the opportunity to tell Santa their wish list; each child also received a gift card to Walmart, fruit and candy. Jim McCloud, representative for the Elks, said that the party is one of many community events that the Elks sponsor. ‘It’s a nice event for the children, and we really get pleasure from seeing them enjoy their special time with Santa,’ he said.
