Contest winners announced

From October through December, a Christmas short story contest was conducted at Elkins High School. The contest was part of Chelsea Weese’s senior project. She and her mentor, Carla Loutfi, and her English teacher were the judges. From left are, Weese, the organizer of the contest; Sarah Cooper, first-place winner; Cole Ends, second-place winner; David Rose, third-place winner; and Principal David Fincham. The first place winner received $50 donated by Lynn’s gas station in Elkins, while second place won a free movie pass donated by Elkins Cinema 8 and third place won a journal and a pen donated by Elkins Kmart. A second contest will be conducted by Weese.
