Kristina Dyan "Kristi" Price and Andrew Jared "AJ" Ward were married Sept. 15 in an outdoor wedding on the lawn of Halliehurst at Davis & Elkins College. The ceremony, officiated by the Rev. Michael Courtwright, the pastor of the First Church of Christ, was performed under an arbor decorated with fall flora, foliage and plum tulle.

The bride is the daughter of Robin and Mike Price of Elkins. She is the granddaughter of Nellie Galford of Elkins and the late Berlin Galford and Katy Price of Elkins and the late Ray Price.

The bridegroom is the son of Ada and Steve Ward of Evans. He is the grandson of the late Joanne and Robert Ward and the late Edith and William Gould.

The groom escorted his parents for the ceremony's seating, while Shawn M. Price, a brother of the bride, escorted his grandmothers and mother.

The bride was escorted by her father down an aisle decked with purple tulle and silver bows. She wore an ivory satin strapless, princess-style gown with an organza ruffle front insert, silver-beaded waistline and a chapel-length train with embedded beads and crystals. Her fingertip veil was trimmed with matching gems. She carried a nosegay bouquet of an assortment of fall flowers, including burgundy lilies, plum mini callas, green millet and pink calcynia and hand-tied with ivory satin.

Erin M. Price, a sister of the bride of Washington, D.C., was the maid of honor. She wore a strapless, plum satin and organza gown with beaded insert. The bridesmaids were Christina D. Britton of Cross Lanes, Tara R. Edens of Sissonville, Hannah N. Heinzman of Williamstown, Jayme A. Herron of Elkins and Michelle R. Stover of Goldtown. They wore plum, one-shoulder satin gowns with a front fan accent. Their bouquets also carried fall colors and were hand-tied with silver satin. The gowns were complemented by jeweled necklaces and earrings, which were gifts from the bride.

The bridegroom's best man was Brandon J. Jones of Sissonville. His groomsmen were Justin W. Britton of Cross Lanes, Matthew J. Bridgette, Jeffrey D. Edens and J. Bradon Young of Sissonville and Berry C. Stover of Goldtown. The bridegroom wore a black tuxedo with a silver vest, tie and ivory orchid. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos with plum vests, ties and purple orchids.

Katelyn M. and Samantha J. Price, cousins of the bride, assisted with the guest register and the distribution of wedding programs.

Following the ceremony, there was a dinner reception in Halliehurst. Catering services were provided by Davis & Elkins College Dining Services. The three-tiered ivory square cake was provided by Susan Carter. Fall flowers separated the layers, and it was topped with an ornamental initial.

Music for the ceremony and evening events was coordinated by Scott D. Goddard, the vice president for Student Life at D & E, who also served as the couple's announcer. He was assisted by Eric Armstrong.

Floral arrangements were provided by Tammy's Flora and Bridal Gallery, and photography services were provided by Brent and Christy Kepner of Foto 1.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Davis & Elkins College and is employed as assistant vice president of ATM and Check Card Services at United Bank in Charleston.

The bridegroom graduated from West Virginia State University in 2004 and is employed as assistant manager with Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Charleston.

After a week-long honeymoon in Aruba, the couple resides in Sissonville with their dog, Sophie.
