Walmart donates to Catholic Charities

Elkins Walmart associates gather this week to present a check to Catholic Charities West Virginia. Employees and management held a food drive during November and December, and collected money for those wearing jeans on Fridays. Associates collected 839 pounds of food and $790.50 for Catholic Charities West Virginia. The Walmart Foundation also donated $5,000 to Catholic Charities for the associates’ donation of time.Catholic Charities West Virginia is the social service arm of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston and responds to people’s basic human needs of food, shelter, clothing; and offers opportunities to improve an individual’s or family’s circumstances.
