Mary A. Watkins, 90, of Thomas, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, in Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas.
Born July 6, 1922, at Bayard, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes Delsignore.
She operated a bed and breakfast for many years and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of American Legion Proctor Kildow Post 71 in Oakland, Md., Rowlesburg Veterans of Foreign Wars and Bayard Volunteer Fire Department for more than 40 years. She also was a former member of Mount Storm Lions Club.
She is survived by a son, Lewis Franklin Watkins of Lewistown, Ill.; grandchildren, Paul James Watkins, Pennie Hanlin, Danny Jo Watkins and Michael J. Watkins; several great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Joetta Watkins; a sister, Elizabeth Edgar; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Paul Watkins, in 1986; a son, James Michael Watkins; and a daughter, Ernestine Watkins.
Friends will be received at Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, Md., today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home Thursday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Timothy Grassi officiating.
