Kenneth Tenney Sr.

Kenneth C. Tenney Sr., age 73 of Tallmansville, passed away Feb. 21, 2013, from a courageous battle of cancer.

He was born Sept. 10, 1939, at Tallmansville, a son of the late Harold and Estalene Kelley Tenney.

On Nov. 28, 2005, he also was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Jo Kelley Tenney, whom he married Jan. 31, 1959.

Ken is survived by four children, Carla Orsburn and husband, Kenneth, Jeanette White and husband, Clifford, Kenneth Tenney Jr. and wife, Melissa, all of Tallmansville, and Beverly Tenney and companion, Jeff Tallman, of Elkins; nine grandchildren, Benjamin and wife, Allison, Mathew and wife, Libby, Andrew and Tiffany, Sarah Orsburn, William, Victoria, Mikayah Irwin, James Tenney and wife, Becky, and Ashlea White; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Keitha Simmons and husband, Howard, Erma Henline and husband, Philip, Jane Michels and husband, Larry; special aunt, Helen Lee; sisters-in-law, Dee Levrar and husband, Pete, and Connie Simmons and husband, Jim; and brothers-in-law, Gary Lew Kelley and. wife Krystal, Bud Kelley and Joe Nelson Kelley and wife, Pauline.

He retired from Moore Business Forms in Buckhannon and had worked for Upshur County Senior Center driving the senior van. He was one of the original members of Washington District Fire Department in Tallmansville, which he served as a volunteer fireman until he became disabled.

The family would like to thank Mountain Hospice for all their support through his illness and special thanks to Terry Lewis and Kathy Kocher for all their special care of Pappy.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Bradley Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in Elbon Cemetery.

The family suggests that donations may be made to your local hospice program or the Washington District Fire Department, P.O. Box 115, Tallmansville, WV 26237, in memory of Kenneth C.
