A Crawford man remains behind bars in lieu of a $50,000 bond after being arrested Saturday on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence while having minors in the vehicle.
Lawrence A. Burr, 47, of 2211 Bablin Ingo Road, was taken into custody after Upshur County sheriff's deputies observed his 2004 Jeep go left of center and off the right side of the road on West Virginia Route 20, according to the criminal complaint in Upshur County Magistrate Court.
The complaint stated that deputies noticed an odor of alcohol on Burr's breath. They administered four field sobriety tests, which the complaint stated that he failed all four. Burr was taken to the sheriff's department, and the complaint stated that he registered a .133 on the Intoximeter.
In an unrelated matter, deputies arrested a Morgantown man on a misdemeanor DUI charge on Sunday.
According to the criminal complaint in Magistrate Court, Wayne Fasig, 27, was observed by deputies swerving on U.S. 33, and his vehicle reportedly nearly struck a guard rail. The complaint stated that Fasig admitted to taking six pills which were not prescribed to him. The complaint stated that he failed all of the field sobriety tests given to him.
