State government job opportunities will be up for grabs this weekend at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, a host of state agencies will gather at the jail to disperse information about job opportunities in the region. Amber Currence, human resources manager at TVRJ, said WorkForce West Virginia, the Division of Motor Vehicles, the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources and the U.S. Army Reserve all have been invited to attend.
She said TVRJ officials also will be present to accept applications. Prospective employees will be able to fill out applications for correctional positions and may complete a civil service test while at the fair.
Currence said the other invited agencies also might provide applications.
"They will have information about employment and their services," she said.
Attendees are encouraged to come prepared for an interview and bring resumes with them.
"Applicants should bring a couple different forms of ID with them," she added, specifically recommending a driver's license, birth certificate, Social Security card, high school diploma and GED as acceptable forms.
She said having those identifying items will allow the application process for any job to proceed smoothly.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
