WVSF pageant coming up

Eleven girls will be vying to become a princess or maid at Saturday's West Virginia Strawberry Festival Junior Royalty pageant.

The pageant will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Buckhannon-Upshur High School. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Awards will be given for Princess and for 1st Maid and 2nd Maid.

Competing in the 10- and 11-year-old division are Lynzy Nikole Champ, Justine Heaton, Hailey Alexis Farnsworth, Gracie Marsh, Jade Demaira Kesling, Katherine Renee Tenney, Bethanie Ann Mick, Irelynn Keigley, Haylee Rice, Olivia Shea Caynor and Sydney Willett.

Willett, 10, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Dennis and Tracey Willett. She is a fifth-grader at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School, and she enjoys gymnastics, painting, cooking, cheerleading, dancing, swimming and spending time with family and friends.

Caynor, 11, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Theron and Brandy Caynor. She is a fifth-grader at Washington District Elementary School, and she enjoys karate, 4-H, baseball, competing in gymnastics, archery, being on the Lego Robotics Team, being on the swimming team, hunting, art and being in the Kindness Club.

Rice, 11, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Rich and Amy Rice. She is a sixth-grader at Washington District Elementary School, and she enjoys horses, playing baseball, being in 4-H and doing Zumba.

Keigley, 10, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Billy Golden and Rhonda Keigley-Golden. She is a fourth-grader at Tennerton Elementary School, and she enjoys hip-hop dancing, singing and crocheting.

Mick, 11, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Tom and Teresa Mick. She is a sixth-grader at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School, and she enjoys singing in the choir, being on a dance team, decorating cakes and helping in the nursery at her church.

Kesling, 10, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Amber and Jimmie Kesling. She is a fifth-grader at Hodgesville Elementary School, and she enjoys 4-H, reading, softball, cooking, sewing, camping and cooking.

Tenney, 11, of French Creek, is the daughter of Dale and Caprice Tenney. She is a fifth-grader at Rock Cave Elementary School, and she enjoys 4-H, soccer and basketball.

Marsh, 10, of Weston, is the daughter of Julia and Josh Marsh. She is a fourth-grader at St. Patrick's School, and she enjoys ballet, modern dance, hip-hop dance, cheerleading, being in the school choir and playing piano.

Farnsworth, 10, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Amy and Michael Farnsworth. She is a fifth-grader at Union Elementary School, and she enjoys gymnastics, cheerleading, skiing, riding dirt bikes and hanging out with friends.

Heaton, 11, of Buckhannon, is the daughter of Cindy Heater. She is a fifth-grader at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School, and she enjoys dancing, singing, spending time with family and friends and going to church.

Champ, 10, of Volga, is the daughter of Patricia Peck and James Champ. She is fourth-grader at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School, and she enjoys 4-H, soccer, making necklaces and camping.
