The Elkins High School boys basketball team will travel to Martinsburg tonight for the Class AAA Region?II?final at Martinsburg High School at 7 p.m.
The Tigers?(14-9) advanced to the Regional final after losing to Lewis County last Friday71-58 in the sectional championship.
"The kids are very excited to still be playing," Elkins coach John Lawson said. "We're going to have to play our best basketball to have any chance to win."
Elkins High School travels to Martinsburg tonight for Class AAA, Region II tournament action.
Elkins is led by junior forward Logan Phillips, who is leading the team in scoring at 15.8 points per game.
Following Phillips in scoring is Colby Gainer, L.J. Lawrence and Braden Hammond, all averaging 10 points per game, while Brandon Roth is averaging 8.0 points per game for the Tigers.
"We're going to have to shoot the ball well tonight," Lawson said. "They are going to have their coldest shooting day for us to have a chance."
Martinsburg, 22-2 on the season, is coming into tonight's game after defeating Washington 61-55 for their sectional championship.
The Bulldogs are led by senior forward Donte' Grantham and senior guard Jordan Robinson.
"They are very athletic with size and speed," Lawson said. "We have to have a good game defensively to have any chance."
In the other Regional final, Lewis County hosts Washington tonight at 7 p.m.
The Minutemen who are 14-10 on the season are led by junior center John Riley, junior guard Joe Nichols, senior guard Jacob Davission and junior guard Skylar Carlton.
Washington is coming into tonight's game after losing to Martinsburg in the sectional final last week.
The Patriots are led by senior guard Christopher Hosby, junior forward Michael Himes, junior guard Maleke Jones.
