Randolph County Schools will be conducting the registration process for incoming kindergarten students this year beginning in March and continuing through the months of April and May. Children who will be five years old on or before Aug. 31 are eligible for enrolling in kindergarten for the 2013-2014.
Parents need to be aware that if their child attended pre-school this year at one of the Randolph County Collaborative Pre-School sites, they do not have to participate in the registration process. Pre-school teachers, kindergarten teachers and family resource coordinators will be assisting parents and pre-school students with the transition to kindergarten during the spring semester of the current school year. Parents will need to make certain that their child has all of the required immunizations before school begins in August.
However, parents of four-year olds who did not attend a Randolph County Collaborative Pre-School this year will need to go to the elementary school located in their attendance zone and pick up an information packet from the school principal or secretary. Application packets will be available to be picked up at the schools beginning Monday. Parents need to complete the forms that are in the application packet and return them when they attend their school's Application Day in April or May. Parents also need to bring along their child's Medicaid or insurance card, certified live birth certificate, immunization record and health check physical form from their child's doctor.
Parents will go over all of the completed forms with the the school staff during the Application Day Conference. Students need to accompany their parents on Application Day.
