A 2010 graduate of the college, he returns to Wesleyan after a three-year stint with the Sherwin-Williams Co. Since November 2011, he has served as a market manager for the company in London, Ohio.
Powell earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration. At Wesleyan, he served as the president of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Under his leadership, the group was awarded the President's Cup for the best overall performance in academics, philanthropy and recruitment by a Greek fraternity.
In his role as the advancement officer, Powell will travel extensively and visit alumni and friends to build friendships, connections and support for the college.
"Charlie has an excellent background in higher education advancement and marketing," said Bob Skinner, vice president for advancement. "Both of his parents have enjoyed a distinguished career in higher education, and Charlie's instincts and work ethic allowed him to receive several promotions at Sherwin-Williams. We are delighted that he is returning to Wesleyan."
