U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., will be present at 1 p.m. today for the ribbon cutting to commemorate the Railroad Avenue Streetscape Project in Elkins.
The event will begin at the corner of Railroad Avenue and Fifth Street, across from the Randolph County Senior Center.
The streetscape project has been planned for more than a year, and features the installation of curbs and the planting of trees to provide a boulevard-like entrance to Elkins. The project is designed to lead people to the Elkins Depot and the Elkins Railyard.
The work was done by Triple H Construction.
