The Department of Theatre & Dance at West Virginia Wesleyan College will present two concerts this week at the Culpepper Auditorium in the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts.
The concerts are set to begin at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
This year, Gretchen Moore and Nina Scattaregia, lecturers in dance, have focused on creating repertory works in the dance minor program. Moore's contemporary piece "Validity" has been restaged and also will represent the Department of Theatre & Dance at the West Virginia State Dance Festival at the end of April. Moore also created a new modern, hip-hop fusions piece.
Scattaregia's works include classical excerpts from Swan Lake and contemporary ballet. Additional works include several solo and duet pieces choreographed by students in the dance minor and the Wesleyan Dance Team.
The concerts will showcase the diversity and artistry of the dance program at Wesleyan. More information is available by contacting Scattaregia at firstname.lastname@example.org or Moore at email@example.com
