Snyder sparks Moorefield past East Hardy

MOOREFIELD - Adam Snyder drove in three runs to lead Moorefield past East Hardy 5-4 Friday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

DaShawn Brown added two hits, while Will Schoonover chipped in with two RBIs for the Yellow Jackets (12-4).

Austin Williams notched the win for Moorefield in one inning of relief. He gave up one run on one hit. Jared Kite worked the first six innings.

Tyler Mongold took the loss for the Cougars in six innings of work. He gave up five runs, walked five and struck out six.

Shawn Skovron had two hits and two RBIs for the Cougars.

Pendleton 12, Tucker 2

FRANKLIN - Jesse Lambert drove in three runs to lead Pendleton County past Tucker County 12-2 Friday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Daniel Hevener had two hits and RBI for the Wildcats (7-5, 6-1 PVC).

Luke Yokum notched the win for Pendleton County in four innings of work. He gave up two hits and struck out seven.

Travis Harper took the loss for the Mountain Lions in five innings of work.

Jeriah Joseph had two hits for Tucker County (1-6).

Tucker County will host Paw Paw at 4:30 p.m. today, while Pendleton County will entertain Pocahontas County at 7 p.m.

Prep softball

Moorefield 11, Pendleton 1

MOOREFIELD - Danica Rogers drove in a pair of runs to lead Moorefield past Pendleton County 11-1 Friday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Shayna Vetter added two hits and Brooklin Gilbert a two-run triple for the Yellow Jackets.

Taylor Zuber and Beth Cook had one hit and two RBIs for Moorefield.

Rogers notched the win for Moorefield in three innings of work. She gave up one run on two hits, walked one and struck out eight.

Brittany Huffman took the loss for the Lady Wildcats.
