Experts to take part in Health Expo

April 17, 2013
The Inter-Mountain

Comprehensive blood work, dozens of free tests and important health screenings are just part of the value of the Healthy Living Expo, set for Saturday at Davis & Elkins College.

Marjory Moses, the event organizer, said one-on-one conversations with Davis Health System medical professionals and other local health experts are an invaluable part of the annual event.

"Davis Health System is proud to put patients first, and our dedicated doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners who join our hospital departments at the Healthy Living Expo are a big part of that," Moses said. "People should know the Expo is so much more than displays and screenings - it's an opportunity to have a conversation with medical experts about your own personal health issues."

The Healthy Living Expo runs from 7 to 11 a.m. in the McDonnell Center on the campus of Davis & Elkins College.

Moses said people can be screened for many health risks and talk to other specialists such as physical and speech pathologists, pharmacists, dermatologists, dieticians and many more.

Free tests and screenings include bone density, electrocardiogram, clinical breast exam, basic vision screen, ocular coherence tomography vision screen, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, body fat and body mass index, grip strength, postural evaluations, memory screening, hearing, total cholesterol, blood glucose level, hemoccult kit, skin lesions, sun damage and balance testing.
